LG V20: First Phone to Run Android 7.0 Nougat OS

It has been confirmed by LG Electronics that the LG V20 will be the first device to highlight the Android 7.0 Nougat. This is big news! Shipments will start in the third quarter as many enthusiasts are dying to get their hands on the device.

The phone is similar to its older generation from last year’s release, LG V10. Still, many improvements have been incorporated for better functionality. The LG V20 was designed to take advantage of the Nougat which includes Vulkan-supported graphics for better gaming experience. Along with that, improved batteries are included with Doze. To top that off, Direct Reply is added for quick text responses by notification interface.

The excitement was in the air upon the announcement by Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company. The LG V20 extends and upgrades its predecessor’s multimedia features. It is another step forward for this phone as it has distinctive mobile experience.

Additional details have not been released about the LG V20 just yet.

The first Android phone to hop on board ran Android 1.5 Cupcake. Since then, LG has been in close collaboration with Google on their mobile endeavors. In 2012, the two companies worked together to release the Nexus 4 that ran Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. After that, Nexus 5 was revealed featuring Android 4.4 KitKat. The latest Nexus 5X highlights an Android 6.0 Marshmallow which was unveiled in 2015.
Along with the close collaborations on cell phones, LG and Google have been working on smart wearables such as the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. This particular watch contains cellular-based connectivity.
